Reports on the
participation of countries to the Arab boycott of Israel |
|
Every country has its own import and export rules
including how they participate in the Arab boycott of Israel. The information
presented here is designed to show each country differs in their levels of
involvement.
Some countries flat-out ban Israel goods, while others
require information to approve imports. The reason for this is two-fold: 1)
Some countries that do business with the United States do not want to be in
violation of US Antiboycott laws. 2) Some countries are concerned with the GATT
treaty even though there is a clause in GATT that allows boycotting for what
they call security reasons. (See our reports in the 'Illegal Activity'
section.) 3) Some countries just do not care what the USA thinks of the GATT
treaty says.
The following reports will be updated as information
becomes available and lists how each country participated in the Arab boycott
of Israel. |
